• Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission from April 5, 2022 to date.  

• Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs from June 2018 to October 2020, and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment from November 2019 to April 2022.  

• Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs from September 2016 to June 2018.

• Member of the Jordanian Senate from October 2013 to June 2016. Minister of Political Development from February 2009 to October 2011. 
 
Experience in politics:

• From 1996 to 2008, he co-founded the Democratic Unionist Party, which arose as a result of the unification of four political parties and currents and was elected secretary general of the party in 1996 (which became its name since 1998, the Democratic Left Party of Jordan) and was re-elected at the conferences held in 1998 and 2001 until 2007.

• Elected as a member of the Board of the Jordanian Engineers Union.

• 2003 Members of the Committee for the Development of Party Life (Jordan First).

• 1991-1996 Co-founder of the Jordanian Social Democratic Party and elected as a member of the party's political bureau.

• 1989-1991 Elected as a member of the Board of the Union of Jordanian Engineers and head of the Electrical Division.

• Participated in party work before 1989.

• Provide a number of researches and papers regarding political parties, methods of financing and electoral systems.

• Participated in a large number of conferences at the local, Arab and international levels such as international socialist conferences, Euro-Mediterranean dialogue, The Palestinian issue, security and peace issues, the experience of revolutions (Arab Spring) and the concepts of a civil national state.

• Maintenance officer of United Trading Company 1986-1989. Since graduating, he has worked in the private sector as a communications engineer.
