Youth

Empowering youth in the electoral process and building their capacities is a strategic pillar for enhancing political participation and consolidating the democratic approach in Jordan. This stems from a firm belief that youth are essential partners in shaping the future. Engaging youth in all stages of the electoral process, whether as participants, volunteers, or staff, contributes to strengthening their political awareness, developing their sense of responsibility and belonging, and transforming them into influential actors in public life.

The Independent Election Commission plays a pivotal role in this area by designing and implementing awareness and training programs targeting youth, building their knowledge and practical skills regarding the electoral process, its governing legislation, and best democratic practices.

The Commission also works to provide a safe and stimulating environment for youth participation, offering them opportunities for active involvement in managing and implementing electoral processes. This strengthens their trust in national institutions. This role directly contributes to raising the levels of political and electoral participation and ensuring the sustainability of youth participation as a fundamental driver for developing the democratic process in Jordan.
