Ammar Al-Husseini was appointed as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission on June 21, 2020. As a judge, he previously served as Director of Information and Communication at the General Secretariat of the Jordanian Judicial Council. 
He also held other judicial positions, the most important of which was the technical office at the Court of Cassation. He also worked as a public prosecutor at the West Amman Court of First Instance until he was seconded to the Ministry of Justice as director of international cooperation, where he participated in technical negotiations to negotiate bilateral, regional, and international agreements in the field of extradition and mutual assistance in criminal matters and the transfer of those sentenced to freedom-depriving penalties, as he represented the Ministry of Justice In the technical meetings of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice and the joint meetings of the Councils of Arab Ministers of Justice and Interior charged with preparing model Arab laws and participated in the periodic meetings of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice and Interior, and also contributed to the preparation and implementation of justice development strategies prepared by the Ministry of Justice and the Judicial Council and the coordination of grants and aid provided by donor countries.

To implement these strategies, he is a government expert accredited to the United Nations Office on Crime and Drugs to review the United Nations Convention against Corruption, as well as other related matters. He also worked as General Coordinator of the Good Governance Initiative for Development in the Arab Countries and General Coordinator of the Euro-Mediterranean Justice Program, and in 2017, he was awarded the French Order of Merit with the rank of Knight (Chevalier de la République française) from the French Republic. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law. Born in Amman in 1970, he is married and has two daughters.
