Independent Elections : Jordan's Mossawa Party completes procedures to regularize its situation

The Independent Election Commission announced that the Jordanian Mossawa Party has completed the procedures for regularizing the situation in accordance with the provisions of Article (40) of the Political Parties Law No. (7) of  2022, which required parties established before  the entry into force of the aforementioned Parties Law, to regularize their status in accordance with Article (11/a) of the aforementioned law, within one year from the date of its entry into force.

Article (11/a) of the Political Parties Law No. (7) of 2022 stipulates, "The founders shall hold a founding conference of the party within a period not exceeding one year from the date of fulfilling the requirements stipulated in this law in accordance with the following conditions:
The number of founding members of the party under establishment at the time of the founding conference shall not be less than one thousand people, and the founders shall be residents of at least (6) governorates, so that their number shall not be less than (30) people from each governorate, and that the percentage of young people between the ages of (18) and (35) years shall not be less than (20%) of the number of founders, and that the percentage of women shall not be less than (20%) of the number of founders, and that among the founders shall be at least one person with disabilities, The number of founders present face-to-face at the founding conference shall not be less than the majority of its founding members.

 The Jordanian Mossawa Party held its face-to-face general conference on 10/28/2022.
