Maaytah meets the election committees of the Chambers of Commerce after taking the oath

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng. Musa Al-Maaytah, met with the heads and members of the election committees in charge of supervising the elections of the boards of directors of the Chambers of Commerce and representatives of the commercial sectors, in the presence of members of the Board of Commissioners and the Secretary General of the Commission.
Al-Maaytah stressed the need for the readiness of these committees, providing all the necessary needs, including training operations, facilitating the process of communication between the Commission's center and the committees working in the field, and holding free and fair elections.
The election committees for the elections of the boards of directors of the Chambers of Commerce and representatives of the commercial sectors of the regions (North, Center, South) had taken the legal oath before the members of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, in accordance with the executive instructions for the formation of polling, counting and collectingvoting committees to elect members of the boards of directors of chambers of commerce, and representatives of commercial sectors for the year 2022, issued in accordance with Article (12) of the Chambers of Commerce Law No. (45) of 2009.
According to the Chambers of Commerce Law, each chamber of commerce shall be formed by a decision of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority for each chamber of commerce a supervisory committee named by its chairman and the number of its members shall be determined by the decision of its formation, where the chairman and members of the supervisory committees shall be divided before starting work before the president or whoever he delegates from the members of the Board of Commissioners.
The election committees supervise the conduct of the election process, and check each of the schedules of commercial establishments that are entitled to elect members of the boards of directors of the Chambers of Commerce and the schedules of commercial establishments registered with them and which are entitled to elect representatives of commercial sectors, approve, and announce them in the relevant Chamber of Commerce.
The election committees also scrutinize applications for candidacy for membership of the boards of directors of the Chambers of Commerce and applicationsfor candidacy to represent the commercial sectors, prepare lists of candidates' names and announce them in the relevant chambers of commerce, and provide the Commission with all electoral process papers, requirements, records, and minutes.
It is noteworthy that the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission has set Saturday, 3/12/2022, as the date for voting for the elections of the boards of directors of chambers of commerce and representatives of the commercial sectors, in the quorum reached.
