A coordination meeting was held between the Independent Electoral Commission and the Executive Office of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to review and evaluate the electoral support project.
Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, referred to the skills and experience gained by the Commission’s staff and those working in the electoral process through partnership with donors, especially (USAID).
He pointed out that the Commission accumulated theoretical and practical experiences that are being transferred to wide segments of those interested in electoral work through the establishment of a regional training center.
He also explained the main activities of the project and its reflection on the electoral process at all its stages and on supporting the Commission in the field of raising awareness and education through social media and in the field of electoral disputes, stressing the need to expand cooperation between the Commission and the Agency.
Thomas Stahl, advisor to USAID's Executive Office, reviewed the objectives of the project as well as a general evaluation of the project was carried out in light of what was achieved in the area of performance indicators and expected outputs.
He also stressed the continued support for the Independent Electoral Commission in the coming years and strengthening its work with the partners of the electoral process, while appreciating the efforts of the Commission and its clear achievements at the local and international levels.
